Up for a “SPOOKY”, but fun evening in the water? Join storyteller Sean McGuinn, JB staff, and volunteers for a one of a kind evening paddle along the Patuxent River. During our paddle, we will look for beaver, otter, muskrat, birds, and other wildlife along the shore line. We will make one stop by the water’s edge where Sean will share local legends and ghost stories around a campfire. Enjoying hot cider, sandwiches, and smores. It will be an evening to remember!

The Patuxent River is a relatively slow-moving river, but paddlers must be able to propel the canoe or kayak through the water. Participants must be able to:

1. Independently participate in all activities while maintaining an appropriate and safe body position.

2. Manage all personal care and personal mobility independently.

3. Effectively communicate with leaders and other participants.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses, and closed toed shoes that can get wet & muddy.  Bring a headlamp. We will have some to lend. Ages: 18 and older. Fee: $40 per person. All proceeds will go to the Friends of Jug Bay to fund the paddle program, to support outdoor education programs along the Patuxent River. Registration and current health guidelines will be required.
