Does your kid ask lots of questions and always want to know how things work? Do they crave a deeper understanding of life? Do they love being outside and looking closely at things in nature? Then this is the perfect program for your homeschool student!

Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary will be offering a Homeschool Program for Middle School students this Spring! This program will meet on the following Mondays: March 6, April 3, May 1 and June 5 from 9:30 am – noon at the Parris N. Glendening Nature Preserve. Students are expected to attend all 4 sessions.

Instructors will guide students through an exploration of local ecosystems and empower students to become skilled observers and investigators. Instructors will use inquiry based activities to encourage enthusiasm of the natural world and guide students to ask meaningful questions and conduct a research project on a topic of their choice. There will be an emphasis on both collaboration and self-led exploration.

Students will be encouraged to conduct supplemental research at home to further their understanding of topics explored through the class. They will be expected to use a journal to record their observations, questions, and findings and will be given the opportunity to share their research findings through a format of their choosing.

A large portion of the time will be spent outside. Students must dress for the weather and wear comfortable closed-toe shoes. Grades 6-8 (Ages 10-14). Fee: $40 for the entire program. NO REFUNDS. This is a drop-off program. Registration and current health guidelines required. Minimum 3 & maximum 8 participants. For questions call 410-222-8006 or email rpbloc22@aacounty.org.
