Have a dataset you have no idea how to handle? Want to improve the design of your study? Simply just want to learn something new? Come to a Citizen Data Science Workshop! This is the fifth workshop in the six-part Citizen Data Science series, but you do not need to have attended prior workshops to join. If you feel that Excel/Sheets isn’t quite advanced enough or you would like to learn more about high-level data analysis, then this workshop on the R Statistical Coding language is for you! In this initial workshop, we will cover what R is, download and install R Studio, cover some syntax basics, upload some data, and perhaps even try to create some graphs! This is best if you have some prior knowledge of either statistics or any computer programming language. Attendance of the “Intro to Ecology Statistics” workshop is recommended but not required. Materials will be provided for more intense and self-guided study of R. Please bring a lunch and a laptop! The workshop is free with the $6 entrance fee. Registration required. For questions call 410-222-8006 or email rpcoyn24@aacounty.org.
