Become a Monarch Tagging Volunteer

Join our Monarch Butterfly Tagging Workshop to become a trained volunteer that will support our efforts to tag every Monarch Butterfly that passes through our Glendening butterfly garden on its way to Mexico this fall. Volunteers will need to be available at minimum twice per week during weekdays and weekends from Sept 20 to Oct 20. Volunteers will learn how to safely capture and tag monarch butterflies and how to input data that will inform a larger nationwide effort. Volunteers may spend stretches of time outside waiting for butterflies to arrive. Registration for the workshop is required.
