Join archaeologists Drew Webster and Matt Nickelson in a kayaking expedition to learn about the archaeological and cultural history along the Patuxent River. They will discuss the results of a recent archaeological survey of Jug Bay, which documented archaeological resources ranging from occupations from 13,000 years ago to the historic period. Drew and Matt will share how these archaeological sites to inform us about past ways of life along the Patuxent River. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time. Please bring plenty of water, sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses, and closed toed shoes that can get wet. Ages 13 and older. Free with lunch included – donations accepted by the Friends of Jug Bay to build our kayak fleet. Registration required.
