Micro-Adventure Overnight Kayak Paddle

Not enough time or money to do your dream paddle vacation? Life can sometimes feel like a never-ending loop – you wake up, go to work, run errands, go to sleep. Wash, rinse, and repeat. But every day holds the potential for adventure. Join Jug Bay for a Micro-Adventure paddle. What is that you ask??? MicroAdventures are adventures that are designed to be easily fit into busy schedules. A quick day trip or overnight experience that breaks the everyday grind and rejuvenates the soul.

Kayak experience required. We will meet at Jug Bay’s Emory Waters Nature Preserve and shuttle to our launch spot at Governor Bridge Canoe launch. We will paddle on the Patuxent River for about 15 miles to our camp spot. Camping gear is required, however, Jug Bay has a couple tents available for use. We will cook dinner and breakfast on the campfire. Sunday we will continue down the Patuxent River and up Lyon’s Creek and end back at Emory Waters by 2 pm.

The Patuxent River is a relatively slow-moving river, but paddlers must be able to propel the canoe through the water. Participants must be able to:

1. Independently participate in all activities while maintaining an appropriate and safe body position.

2. Manage all personal care and personal mobility independently.

3. Effectively communicate with leaders and other participants.

Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses, lunch for Saturday, snacks, and wear closed toe shoes that can get wet & muddy. You will get wet. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time. Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast is provided. Limited to 10 participants. Must be 18 or older. $95 per person. No refunds after June 24th for participant cancellations. In the event of poor paddle conditions, the program will be cancelled and refunds will be made.
