“To become a volunteer you do not need to be an expert - you only need an interest in the environment, a desire to learn and a commitment to the goals of the Sanctuary.”

Jug Bay has an incredible Citizen Science legacy with some programs running continuously for 30 years and counting. Each season, our volunteers gather and analyze new data and present their year-on-year findings in our annual Citizen Science eSummit. Every five years, the summit convenes in person for in-depth presentations on trends and thinktank on new questions to pose to the Sanctuary.

We are proud to share the 2025 eSummit project briefs below. Please note that a small handful of projects are finalizing their data and will be added shortly.
