Fish Survey

Many species of fish--including migratory fish and year-round residents--use the wetlands at Jug Bay for spawning, feeding, and shelter. Volunteers monitor both the tidal Patuxent River and non-tidal creeks, and a beaver pond documenting the differences in fish species diversity and abundance. Volunteers using a seine net to catch fish at River Farm.

If you are willing to hike, swim, wade in waist-high water, and handle fish, join us for our regular fish surveys.
