How to Become a Volunteer

Volunteering at Jug Bay is a fun and rewarding way to learn about ecology and to help with research, education, stewardship projects and more. No experience is necessary, only enthusiasm for learning.

 Getting Started:

 

* Fill out the Volunteer Application and mail, or bring it to Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary 1361 Wrighton Road, Lothian, MD 20711 or fax to 410-741-9346.

* If you have questions, contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Lindsay Hollister, at 410-741-9330

* Once we receive your application we will set up an informal meeting to familiarize you with the facilities and discuss the available volunteer opportunities.

 * While some projects require training, many are available to begin immediately and you can learn as you go.

* Active volunteers visit at least 3 times per year and devote a minimum of 10 hours.
